Center Stripe Wedding Rings
We can join multiple pieces of precious metal to make wedding rings with stripes. Stripes can be made from any of the precious metals offered in the materials section. Pictured here are red and white gold wedding rings.
Offset Stripe Wedding Rings
Wedding rings don’t have to be identical to match. Here we have hammered wedding rings that contain thick and thin stripes in masculine and feminine gold color combinations.
White Gold, Platinum, Silver Stripe Wedding Ring
For a whole lot of awesome, we have a white gold ring with platinum and silver stripes. Warning: this ring is more complicated to fabricate than it looks.
Inlay Dots on Wedding Rings
The easiest way to create mixed-metal wedding rings is with dots. Generally, the smaller the area of inlay, the easier it is to make. This style shows just a hint of each other’s ring in the form of a dot.
Wedding Rings with Thin Stripe Inlay
Vertical stripes are a popular choice among my customers. Yellow or red gold inlay into platinum or palladium are the easiest choices, but we can do white metal into gold as well. I don’t usually recommend white gold on platinum or palladium as there is very little color contrast.
Horizontal Stripe Inlay Wedding Ring
These stripes are more time consuming than shorter, vertical stripes, but are less work than joining multiple pieces of metal together. This particular customer used yellow gold from his grandmother’s ring for the inlay.
Interior Inlay
This customer used his grandmother’s gold and platinum engagement ring to create his own. He mixed the yellow gold with new material to make the band, and formed the prongs from her platinum setting to inlay his wedding date on the inside of the ring. It looks cool while being heated, but you can see a photo of the finished ring >here<.
Mokume Inlay Wedding Ring
We can inlay mokume into wedding rings as well. While the pattern is more subtle in real life than it seems in these photos, it is a great way to add a hint of whimsy to wedding rings that are otherwise traditional.
Custom Inlay
You can create custom patterns with inlay as well. This customer inlaid an infinity symbol across her ring.
Wedding Ring with Date Inlay
This is the finished wedding ring featured in the process photo above. Inlaying platinum into gold is more difficult than vice versa. Customers more often inlay gold wedding dates into platinum.
Inlay Dots and Stripes Wedding Rings
Dots and stripes are the easiest forms to inlay – especially when putting gold into platinum or palladium. Once the rings are inlaid, they can be hammer-textured as well.
Wedding Rings with Wide Stripes
The processes of inlay depend on how wide the stripes are going to be. Prices vary depending on how much work is involved. Generally, much wider inlay will be more effort (and visible) than narrow inlay.
